It's a dogs life!

Sooooo much space......

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy. If it is possible I have had an even BETTER day today!

We left home this morning at 10. I wasn't too impressed because it was raining, but I thought at least mum wouldn't put her bikini on again...phew!!

We went to a place called Gorran Haven and walked the coastal path to Vault Beach.

It was BRILLIANT. It is quite a walk to the beach, about 20mins of steep ups and downs. I was on my lead and pulling and pulling to try and get to the sea. Mum and daddy said there was no way I could be trusted to be off lead on the coastal path yet, as I would just leap off at any chance I got!!

When we got to the beach it was EMPTY! The tide was in and the waves were really big. We clambered down the path and just as I was about to be let off the lead we saw a man wrapped in a blanket sat right by the water's edge. Oooooo I thought, let me at him, he looks FUN! Mum grabbed me back and I went on my lead again. hummmppphhhhh. Apparently he was meditating and wouldn't have appreciated me jumping all over him??! Really, do you think so?? I didn't believe them.

Anyway, we walked along and then had the rest of the beach to ourselves. It was FANTASTIC. I was jumping in the sea after my ball LOADS but then one time, I leapt in just at the same time a big wave broke and hit me straight in the chest. Oooooommmmppphhhhh. Phew, I lost my breath for a minute then. It was a bit scary. I decided not to jump the waves anymore, I just stayed on the edges!

Mum and daddy didn't bring much beach stuff as we were only planning a walk and quick swim for me but we ended up staying 3 hours! They could sit on the sand and I could run and play to my hearts content. I did not stop wagging my tail ONCE! They laughed because everytime they looked at me I was off digging, swimming, chasing my ball, rolling in the sand and chasing wagtail birds, all the time I didn't stop wagging my tail! I was sooooo happy.

Then...all of a sudden.... I noticed the meditating man had stood up. I squinted up the beach at him (he was a long way away) and WOW, he was dancing..... whoopppeeeee I thought, he really is fun. Just as I was about to make a mad dash and join him I felt a big hand on my collar. Hummmppphhhhh. Fun spoiled again!

It rained on us a few times but the sun came out now and then to dry us off and it was really warm. Mum took LOADS of photos practicing her manual settings. It was VERY hard to choose tonight, but we thought that this one gave a feeling of all the space and the big waves! Can you spot my ball again??!

We even had a visit from a seal. He popped up really close to shore to say hello. Both times the camera was in the bag and by the time it came out he was gone!

On our way back up the beach to go home (again I REFUSED to move and it took a while) we went past the meditating man on his way into the sea. He wondered down and just as he got to the edge do you know what he did???.........He took his trunks off!!! Oh my goodness, I had to cover my eyes with my paws! He ran into the sea completely naked! *giggle*

So....a VERY exciting day. I was on the go the WHOLE time.

I am very excited because in the morning we are going back to Gorran Haven and we are hiring a two man kayak. Apparently I am going to sit in the middle..........??

Sounds BRILLIANT fun for a puppy like me :-)

Bye for now
