My Mum

Here she is age 82. She is such a wonderful person and is so caring and kind towards everyone around her.

She is my Dad's soulmate, and is the reason he has 2 days until he is 90. She has loved and cared for him, met his every need and is attentive and so understanding.

Tomorrow, I have asked all my cousins, who are my dad's nieces and nephews for a surprise lunch. When you are 90 and you can't hear anything, and have no energy to organise anything, it is all a bit much...and you certainly can't ask your wife who does so much on a daily basis.

SO - I wondered what it would be like if my uncle was to be 90 and I couldn't toast his health and happiness...I loved my Uncle Jim very dearly and I would have crossed the world to raise a glass with him on any birthday.

I quietly invited my cousins who are spread between Cornwall and Glasgow - and all but 4 can come. Tomorrow there be 8 of them and 3 of us. What a fab turn out.

Mu mum always guesses what we are up to and hides it from dad...this will be the first time that I can recall that she has not worked out "the plan". I hope she can wear her sun hat tomorrow - although the weather man says she can only do so for the morning!!!
