Longleat Panorama - An unspoilt scene
Last day at Longleat and we headed up the hill that overlooks the house and grounds as we had been given a bit of information by a very helpful member of the Estate staff who told us last night that, as Longleat House is a Grade 1 Listed building, any permitted development must not be visible from this point. Consequently, as this panorama shows (best viewed large), there is no hint of the attractions that bring in hordes of visitors every day nor of the caravan site on which we are staying.
We leave here in the morning and are heading for the Isle of Wight, so this the last of the Longleat shots for now at least. What a great place to spend time with children and I can imagine we will be back again in the years to come. Other people we have spoken to seem to come back repeatedly and staying on the site give the opportunity to use the passport tickets for the attractions to good effect.
Backplipped the last couple of days as this is the first opportunity to sit down and upload.
Wednesday 3rd August - Next Year the Tour de France
Thursday 4th August - Did you get my good side?
I've got my fingers crossed that I can get a wi-fi signal at the next site on the Isle of Wight, otherwise I will catch up on return home or if I find a suitable venue to make the connection.
