Washing clothes...

In Nepal it is common for people to have a Didi, a lady who works for the family to help with cleaning, cooking, shopping and caring for the children. It is one way of supporting the local people to earn money and so contribute to the local Nepali economy. It seems odd to us to have a lady but apparently we are expected to do so! This lady is one of the Didi's in our apartment block, washing clothes using water from the well. We met our Didi today...so no more washing machines or trips to the laundrette for Paul!
