Blue Skies

South Africa celebrated National Woman's Day today.
It is in honour of the women who took a stand against apartheid and continue to be the backbone of the country.

In 1956 there was a public march of women to the Union Buildings in Pretoria to protest against the pass laws. They carried petitions signed by more than 100 000 people. In the 54 years since then this phrase; "youi strike a woman, you strike a rock", has come to represent women's courage and strength in South Africa.

We spent the day enjoying some great weather. It felt like a spring day and when this little plane flew over I realised how blue the sky was today.
