the perfect proposal

Buttermere Fells, the Lake District. a 9 mile walk which started off dreich and wet, and which ended in bright sunshine and a beautiful, very special evening - and i'm not just talking about the weather.

M proposed to me today! and of course i said yes. i am over the moon!!

a gorgeous proposal right here on the hillside of Buttermere Fells overlooking the valley. an incredibly beautiful and precious ring, which M had especially designed and which holds the ruby and diamonds from M's grandmother's ruby wedding ring.

so now i know why we're staying in a beautifully luxurious country house hotel... greeted with champagne in the room on our return, and i was treated to a delicious tasting menu with matching wines for a very special dinner.

the perfect day; the perfect evening and the perfect proposal.
