Me and the Eagle
I worked at home all day. We received a bunch of data from the DOT detailing airline and airplane traffic. Not really too exciting, but it pays my bills. Or at least most of them. It was not as warm today as it was yesterday. Almost cool. It was only 107 degrees. We are supposed to drop to only 101 degrees by Sunday. Praise God from whom all blessings flow. But then on Monday, it is supposed to go back to 105ish.
I had planned on going into the Post Office today but was stopped by a broken window shade. I took several shots of this ugliness. But in the end, pointing out the warts serves no purpose. This is a lovely structure. And don't we all have an angle we don't want shot.
This I believe is the best shot of the day. But it didn't have ME in it. I love the angle and the eagle so please take a look.
This is sort of a self portrait. I have my junk on the ledge. That is the most I can hope for. I was made from dust and dust I shall return. But this structure, existed before me and hopefully will live on long after I am gone. I can place crap around her and think I am making a mark, but in reality, anything I leave will soon be erased. The best that I can hope for is to leave something of meaning behind. To not pollute or destroy so that my kid's kid's kid's may someday stand on these steps and wonder who crafted these images and who set these stones.
