How Long Is Temporary?

The rain abated for a while this afternoon so Mr Flum and I took a walk through the Hermitage of Braid.

This temporary bridge replaced a rustic 'poohsticks' bridge which was beginning to rot.... several years ago. The cut ends of the old bridge were boarded up to prevent accidents (there is one to the left) but the entrance ends were also boarded up so are inaccessible. It would be nice to see a permanent rustic replacement.

In the Visitor Centre we read that the plans to create a walled garden by the C17 doocot are still seeking funding. The ground is being cleared so the doocot is now visible from the path - a great improvement as prior to this is was hidden in trees.
