High Water
After another day of rain we checked out the Water of Leith at Dean Village.
The river was brown and fast running and, as is often the case, the lower footpath was completely under water. Next to the weir the water was flowing down the steps like a fish ladder.
Another onlooker mentioned that earlier the Antony Gormley lifesize statue downstream at Stockbridge was up to his neck (normally around knee level); by the time we saw him the water had subsided down to his biceps so hopefully the danger of flooding has passed.
Unless it rains again.
