Today's the day .......................... to buy a raincoat

This smiley man just about sums it up here today. It did rain a lot and as I had a day off work, I took myself off to one of the many outdoor clothing stores that we have round here - to buy myself a new waterproof jacket.

It's fatal to go into those places, specially at this time of the year when they have all their end of summer sales on - you see all sorts of bargains that you just have to buy. I actually ended up getting two jackets and a fleece!

But at least now when it rains (as it is inevitably going to do) I'm going to be well protected - and pretty much in fashion too ..................


ps Update on Will's birthday week (see yesterday for details) - today he received a tub of concentrated farmyard manure and a voucher for a specialist plant nursery near here which he used to buy a kiwi fruit plant.
