In The Occupied Territory

I could build you a tower

This tower is actually the part of the front entrance of Blairs College. It is no longer used as a college, but retains the name.
Up until the late 80's, or maybe even later. it was a college, attached to a catholic church, which was used to train priests. When Sir Alex Ferguson was the manager of Aberdeen Football Club, he took his players out to Blairs to meet the trainees. In the local paper though they reported the story that he took them out to the local POLICE college.
So this story was obviously phoned into the office and the call-taker had obviously mis-heard. But that fact that the editor or sub-editor did not pick up the error before it went into print, must constitute an even more careless mistake than mis-hearing.
Nowadays the church is still there, but the college is a museum, and is room in it are sometimes let out to businesses to use for training courses in whatever the company is involved in.
