A Touch of Snow
Hubby and I left Wellington with the rain and hail smashing against the window of the car, the temperature dropped to 3C as we crawled our way up the Rimutaka Range, with a bit of clearance in the weather at the summit, we proceeded to descend into Wairarapa where the sky was thick and threatening with very heavy clouds.
Not long after arriving in Masterton the rain came and then all was still. We heard the Rimutaka Range had been closed with snow and 100 people were trapped - we had just made it through in the nick of time. Daughter A texted me to say it was snowing in Wellington, while Daughter E was grumbling there was no snow in North Canterbury. In the meantime behind drawn curtains and in the darkness of the street, the snow was quietly falling. Voices of young started to yell with excitment - we were in a town where it never snows but for now there is a touch of snow.
A little behind with backblips but will catch up over the next few days :)
