Every photo tells a story

The feeding of the five thousand.

I bought these beautiful prints for £3.00. There were 9 of them, and I did not buy them for their religous content, but because of the name of Enid Blyton on the left. When I was a child I read her stuff with a passion. I knew nothing of class issues then, and read them because our teacher, the Gaffer instilled in us a search for knowledge, which he said could be discovered by reading anything, even comics, but not American comics because of their spellings. But he said even American comics rather than none at all. my dad got me the books by scavenging them from the empty houses, which were scheduled for demolition. he found me many childhood classics like, Black Beauty, Brer Rabbit, Heidi, The Coral Island, Robinson Crusoe, Tom Sawyer etc, etc. I became a pulp addict, and I am still addicted, although I actually prefer American thrillers now. However catholic by religion and nature I will try any genre. If I had to name my favourite writerI would struggle to limit it to one, but would say, Thomas hardy. Imagine that, a bogtrotter like myself with literary aspirations. Thanks to the gaffer, for one of the best pieces of advice, that I actually heeded.
Adios.
