Elvis anniversary.
Why the hat I can probably hear you saying. Sorry quickish blip. Off for an interview in Warrington in an hour. Took maggie for walkies, and four strangers bid me good morning, even though it was raining like billyo. They weren't being ironic, just polite. Doesn't it restore your faith in human nature.
The d.j. talked about it being 34 years since the death of Elvis. I can't say that I was his number 1 fan, but it's amazing the impact he and his music had on people. The d.j.played"Are you lonesome tonight?"I just got a lump in my throat, it was my mums favourite, quite by accident as it was. She would sing away to her hearts content. When I once said to her that I didn't know she was a fan of Elvis, she said,"I'm not. It's Jim Reeves that sings that." I didn't have the heart to tell her the truth, and she really loved gentleman Jim, another taken well before his time. The hat, well it's probably the most expensive item in my wardrobe, £35, and worth every penny. You don't need a brolly when you've got an Aussie hat like that, it even has a feather from my now departed Silver Laced Wyandotte cockerel on the other side. I thought you would prefer the Kangaroo. My italian friend Corrado calls it my umbrella, which he reliably informs me, in Italian, is ombrello. I'll have to take his word for that, the only other Italian word is indementicabile, which might mean something like unforgettable?
Adios.
