Snow
Real winter has arrived at last. We had about 30 cms of snow overnight, with snow, rain, sleet, and more snow throughout the day.
For a while this morning it was quite clear and I went outside to take some photos. I took some nice picture postcard shots, but it was this poor quality one taken through a window that I liked best. It sums up how it's been for the birds today. More birds than ever have come to the feeders- 30 or 40 sparrows, several waxeyes, 3 blackbirds, some dunnocks, and for the first time the chaffinch brought his shy lady, and a yellowhammer appeared.
My cat has been very miserable. After several aborted attempts she plunged out into the snow, and panicked when she found herself shoulder deep.
