My new (old) bike
The bike shop called to say that my bike would be ready this evening so I took a stroll in the drizzle to collect it. By the time I left the shop the drizzle had turned in to a torrential downpour but at least it cleared the obstacles (ie, pedestrians) from the cycle path and canal as I attempted to find my feet and ride again. I don't know if it was the rain or just lack of practise but it was quite scary and I began to wonder how I'll ever manage to take my hands off the handlebars to indicate when I brave the roads.
After drying off from my ride (in which I got soaked in through to the skin) I fitted the mudguards, front light and bell (both using cable ties as the screws to hold them weren't long enough for the diameter of the handlebars so tomorrow I'll be all ready to go out and ride.
Now, a problem I've found with the bike is that to be legal when riding it at night I need to have a white front light, red rear light, red rear reflector and amber pedal reflectors. Well, I have the lights, I need two more pedal reflectors but that's ok. But look at the rear of the bike, where am I supposed to fit a reflector?
