Welcome to Athens
Short day of classes then a rush to clean the apartment.
Two friends from high school came down to visit.
They drove four hours to come see me.
One of the guys had just turned twenty-two and the other was celebrating his last week of 'freedom'.
Next week, he goes up for commission in the army.
Which means I likely won't see him again. :(
They got into town at 9:30 and we went out.
Good times.
I love it when I get to see these guys.
*this entry has a slight edit: little level adjustment.
And now, a continuation of the story. Enjoy.
Part 1
Part 2
Again, this is a story, not drawn from my life or anyone I know. This is entirely a work of fiction. Any likeness to actual events or people is entirely coincidental and completely possible.
I took a breath, relieving my oxygen-starved lungs while he and the band met in the center of the stage. In the midst of the huddle, he looked back, his eyes met mine, and he smiled, this time causing my heart to stop.
When next he looked away, I began shouldering my way through the crowd on shaky legs, leaving my unaware friends behind.
I had to get out of there. If he could do that to me with just a look and a song, how could I stand to see the rest of the show? I had been so excited to see the band, but what could I do? At the rate I was going, I'd need an ambulance and end up ruining his performance.
Why am I so stupid? Why am I so weak when it comes to him? Besides the fact that he's gorgeous, has an amazing voice, a breathtaking smile, and a...gift with that guitar of his. *sigh*
