Wee Dooker and Iolair
After dropping oldest son off at the airport as he headed off to his new job in Bicester, it was time to get back down to Carradale.
Having gone up and down this road every 2 or 3 weeks for the last 8 years, I knew there were good blipping opportunities if the sun came out.
The two Skiffs in the picture at Tarbert, Wee Dooker (also a name for local fishermen) and Iolair, are replica and reconstructed boats that were originally used to catch herring and other local fish over 100 years ago. It is wonderful that such history has been maintained to provide a sense of what Tarbert would have looked like all those years ago. They also make a great picture and I am sure someone must have blipped them before.
