Yellow daisy

Sad news about the Red Arrows pilot who gave up his own life to ensure his broken Hawk jet would miss the houses. We see them twice every year over here in Tendring at the Clacton Air Show, which is in the diary for the coming week. The Red Arrows though, will no doubt, sadly, not be present.

L and I took Emma blackberry picking near the airfield today. It?s something I?ve done since I was a child. Not only is it free food (don?t tell Homer), it?s organic, it needs a walk to get there, it needs work to pick it, and once frozen, can keep us in soft fruit for the rest of the year! In fact we?ve only just finished last autumn?s harvest.

The picking was curtailed when a heavy shower passed overhead, making us run for shelter by the golf course.

Snapped this Coreopsis while it was still sunny. At least I think it?s a Coreopsis ? let?s just say a yellow daisy ? that?s a lot easier.
