Water Vole

Okay so it's not a brilliant photo but this was my first ever sighting of one of these delightful mammals so I have to put it as my blip! This was taken at Askham Bogs just south of York. Someone else was there filming the voles too! No it wasn't anyone famous, just some random bloke, but he had all the gear with him and looked very professional about it. I hope he got some cracking footage!

There were also plenty of dragonflies along the boardwalk and I think this is a female Common Darter, I also saw my first ever Gatekeeper butterfly who chose the most awkward place to land on a fence!
