...Hungry like the wolf......
Stayed up until nearly 3.00 a.m. last night catching up on blips, back blipping, commenting etc etc...as a result slept in until 9.30 this morning.
Ate a bagel for breakfast and went off to put petrol in the Boss' car and then see the boys.
Pottered around this afternoon and then set off at 5.00 for coaching.
Finished coaching at 8.10 thanks to one of the Mums who was catching like there was no tomorrow, she had 3 gudgeon, 5 perch and 3 roach.....was it my coaching or is she just a natural?.....I know what the boys will say....."She's a natural!"
Got home at something after 9.00 and sat down to a plate of spicy sausage and noodles....five minutes later this is all that was left....a smear on the plate...it must be all that fresh air that gives me an appetite.
Hopefully I'll get the car back tomorrow, sometime around lunchtime and then tomorrow evening is an ADB meeting. I don't normally go....but this time I am....and there's going to be harsh words spoken.
A few weeks ago there was abig Junior angling match to select a team for Greater Manchester....the criteria for selection was supposed to be by assessment....but it was later announced that the top 10 would be selected....so we should have had 3 kids in the team....but there was some backtracking and only 1 was selected because they used some scoring system based on a questionnaire. So the harsh words are going to be about:
Indecision on the criteria for selection
Cutting the clubs out of the selection process
Using a questionnaire unfit for purpose due to a very high reading age and it being a generic sports questionnaire
The subjective nature of the assessment and scoring which was neither criterion or norm referenced
The ability of the questioners to do the task
And who the f*ck wants to answer a 50 question "test" in the middle of a four hour angling match!!!!????
So....do I go for the baffle them with science approach...not difficult to do with the people running this show................or do I go for the disguised insult approach: "With all due respect" code for "Listen up you thick sod!" or will that be too subtle.........or shall I just go for the full on, all out, absolutely effing furious approach?
Decisions, decisions, decisions.
