Day to day today

Margate Photofest

Margate is really improving these days, and is fast becoming one of my favourite places to visit. There's a long way to go, but it does seem to be on the right track - there's a fabulous (rather controversial) new art gallery (the Turner Contemporary), and the buzz around that seems to have got people visiting again.

It was quite a blustery day on the Sunday that I visited the Margate Photofest, so I think a lot of work that was due to be exhibited outdoors made their way indoors. This was the work on show in one space.

It was really a way of getting people involved in the town and interested in a form of art that's pretty accessible and easy to do for all. Some of this particular part of the 'Fest' were obviously just snapshots, but others were really lovely. There were also a few exhibitions around the Old Town by established photographers.
