Year Three

It's that window again!

The number of times I can post this view is actually getting quite low now. In the best case scenario I will only look out of this window three more times before it will never happen again. My parents house is being sold and I'm emigrating for good in a few weeks. I'll be back here in 3 weeks for the last couple of nights.

But between tomorrow and my emigration I have 2 more events in Europe to enjoy, another 5,500 miles to cover and then I can catch my flight home.

Looking forward to getting back on the road again as the events are great fun to be on. And each day on an event brings me one step closer to home as well which is the added bonus. But the next 3 weeks are going to fly. This weekend I'll be in the Swiss and Italian Alps, Salzburg for Sunday, Monday in Prague, Calais (better than people think) for a few days next week, and then heading for Romania the following week. And then back to the UK.

Today was packing day. In the past, packing for an event was a stressful bit of business. It involved a myriad of check lists, frayed tempers, double checking we had various things, and the invariable racking of the brains to figure out what you've missed.

But today was more orderly. Far too orderly. Everything collected, camping gear washed, van repacked, food purchased. Ready to roll. Does help that half the kit is already in France waiting for us though! Even still, for a three week trip out to Europe, today was remarkably laid back.

We checked the back of Goat (the van) earlier, and had to comment that it looked rather orderly as well for once. Usually there are boxes everywhere, loads of unboxed things kicking around, things leaning against the side walls, and in previous events we've had Goat loaded to the back doors. Today it actually looked tidy. And that has to be a first.

Got a few things to do tomorrow morning first thing, like sort the insurance, but then I'm on the road. We're going to stop by a BP and take advantage of the 50p car wash offer - Goat deserves that (after my appalling wash I gave it yesterday) considering it's done 9,000 miles now in the last 4 weeks.
