To the trained eye: Land of Maggiek
To the untrained eye it might look like the kids spent most of the morning taking everything they could find and randomly dropping it on the floor. However, to the trained eye this is the Land of Maggiek (pronounced ma - jeek) which is an extraordinary complex world with houses, businesses, restaurants, plazas, skating rinks and with many rules and rhythms. And most importantly it has kept the kids entertained AND playing really nicely together for just about the whole day.
After getting quite a bit of work done last night, Carl and I celebrated by staying up a little later than was wise putting together a compilation list of our favourite music from our late teenage years. At some point I will get around to making it a real iTunes playlist but not before I work out how to "lose" one of the entries.
Due to the late night we had a late start to the morning and, in the face of any real plans, told the kids they were in charge today. Interestingly, as this is their main complaint about being a kid (the lack of being in charge), as soon as we said this they disappeared to happily play together in the pool and then through the creation of, and playing in, Land of Majeek. We've never been needed less.
Oh, and they chose the blip - obviously.
