I've had a small beer and a cocktail with a meal out tonight. I can't hold my drink at all!

While our youngest is on holiday, we've had a few small treats that we don't have time for when she's at home. So tonight, I met my husband in Manchester as he came out of work, and we went for a meal, somewhere we wouldn't go as a family. After our meal, in a stylish bar, it hit home that we are hugely out of touch with Manchester's night life. We both felt like fish out of water in the trendy bars, so we ended up in 'The English Lounge', a more traditional style pub.

We have missed our daughter, but this week without her has given us a precious opportunity to put our own relationship at the forefront again. I'm a very happy woman.
