Today's the day ......................... to let your hair down

Took ourselves off today to the little town of Kirkcudbright in Dumfries and Galloway. We were going to see an exhibition of paintings by a group of artists known as the 'Glasgow Boys' some of whom lived and painted in the town around the end of the 19th century.

There has been a summer art exhibition in Kirkcudbright Town Hall for several years now. They have included some very well known and valuable paintings - and yet entry is always free. This year was no exception and we saw some lovely paintings by several of our most favourite artists - like Arthur Melville and James Guthrie. It was a real treat.

We had a walk round the town afterwards and found this damsel letting her hair down from a high window of Kirkcudbright Castle ........................
