Making It a Better Highway

The spring flower of the American roadway is in full bloom in our valley. The barrels are constricting trafic on what was a 4 lane highway down to 2 lanes. The wall on the right side of the picture is, in bits and pieces, falling over the hillside and taking parts of the road with it.

To try to stop the slippage the state road is driving steel I-beams on end into the bank below to form a retaining wall. It is hard to stop a mountain from going where it wants to go but we shall see.

I just hope they reach an end soon.
