Corydalis nobilis

This lovely Corydalis has an interesting story: Linnaeus got some seeds sent to him, that was supposed to be seeds of the lovely Dicentra spectabilis, which he had never seen.

Much to his disappointment they turned out to be Corydalis nobilis instead. It spread from the Linnaeus garden in Uppsala and nowadays it's a common "weed" in many gardens in southern Sweden, especially around Uppsala and Stockholm. It's origin is Central Asia.

I think it's a lovely plant, actually much nicer than Dicentra spectabilis. It also has the advantage to flower early and then "disappear", thus making space for later flowering beauties.
