Exuberance and Joy
I think this pretty much sums up Ben's sheer joy at finally being at the campsite with his friend Ede!!
Stayed at our house overnight, and packed for the campsite this morning. Took a while as Steve hadn't fully realised how long it took for me to get through breakfast etc... but we made it out before midday, and although on the way we drove through some pretty heavy rain by the time we arrived in the early afternoon the sun was shining again so we were able to pitch the tent and get everything inside in the dry. The odd shower didn't do anything to dampen Ben's spirits!
Barbecue for dinner, and as we were clearing up we noticed the sky was suddenly brilliantly on fire. We pretty much dropped everything we were doing to gawp and take pictures!
As it got darker the boys started playing with torches. Steve had bought himself a new little torch (an LED one which can fit into his bike helmet) so Ben inherited Steve's old red mini maglite which he loves playing with. Ben let Ede borrow his little red torch so that he could borrow Steve's new shiney one :) Smart boy, our Ben. I persuaded Steve to play around with long exposures to capture the boys' light painting, and once he's got his blips up I'll link to them too!
Lovely end to a day of such relief, we bought a bag of logs and lit a fire on the barbecue and relaxed and gazed into the flames. Finally on holiday.
