Why did I come in here?

Twister

I had never seen this type of skateboard until this morning. It's called a Twister. You can see the basic shape from the shadow, but imagine two small tennis racquets bolted together via the handles, and there you have it. Except this board only has two wheels. Where the pads join together is a piece of flexible metal, encased in heavy gauge rubber, which enables the pads to articulate separately from each other. The rider has to be fairly good to be able to handle the various moves this enables, but once mastered it looks incredible fun.

My interest in this goes way back to the mid 60s when the father of a friend brought a skateboard back from California after a business trip. The two of us spent hours trying to master the damn thing, never really succeeded but had fun trying.
