mean kids

Zachary is at Day Camp this week and stayed away last night on a bivy. It is his third year and has loved it so far...

This afternoon though when I met him from the bus he was in tears. He has been bullied and physically hurt - sporting a bruise and bump on his temple. I am livid!

He is the sweetest boy but he doesn't follow football and doesn't play violent games on X Boxes and sometimes that makes him stand out as different. He wanted to discuss light pollution with the other boys last night and the snakes that you find in England. These things at ten years of age in some groups make you 'different' and different means getting picked on.

Meanwhile my thirteen year old daughter is having a wonderful time with a group that are just that more mature and making the most of enjoying their time together.

That will be his future too as he grows up - but for now he is stuck with the young mean kids.
