Robin Redbreast
Here he is! Lovely Mr Robin having a quick nibble at the suet feast before the Starlings and House Sparrows arrive. I now have no mealworms left so on Tuesday I put up one of the suet feasts from last year (I have 5 left which should do for another week), hardly any birds came to it on the Tuesday but yesterday and today we have been inundated especially by the sparrows! Just a little while ago I counted about 30 odd (not all on the feeder at the same time that would have been impossible!) but in the surrounding bushes with about 5 or 6 fighting with each other for the best spot to get at the food. There is also a very cute young Robin who has also been coming to the food when there are no other birds around.
The buddleia has been alive with butterflies again this afternoon even though it hasn't been particularly warm. I counted 5 Red Admirals and 2 Peacocks on it all at the same time.
