Turismo Comunitario at its Best
This is Agua Blanca: a community of 60 families, in the heart of the hills of Machalilla National Park, that works towards a collaborative tourism project bringing in hundreds (or is it thousands?) of visitors each year.
In addition to the good-for-the-skin sulphur lagoon the community boasts an extensive archaeological site and museum, integrated farming techniques, artisan works, and fantastic views of this majestic region of southern Manabi.
