Herrington Country Park

This is the view north west from the highest point in Herrington Park. It is an interesting stone circle on top of a hill.

Herrington park is near penshaw monument in sunderland (right of the image), and is a former coal mine. my grandparents house is in nearby penshaw village, and i remember it being operational and the massive spoil heap back in the 80's.

it has now been transformed into an awesome area of public open space and a nature reserve. great place for riding, walking, and birdwatching.

and to the left is my trusty steed, my orange p7, subject of many a blip.

apologies if you think the hdr is overdone, i am but learning......
