The curious case of the crushed digestives
1. This is Dallis, mid-afternoon. Moments before Gareth had opened the digestives and dropped them. There was a beat of utter terror when we thought all was lost and Dallis turned to me with a look that was straight out of a 1940s b movie. All was well, but I had to ask her to recreate it.
2. Every time you hear a bell ring a girl loses her internet connection. I tried to load this last night and couldn't so it's a day late. I'm going to bend the rules slightly in other ways too and mix some things from other days into my five. I couldn't fit the good things in on some days and on others I just didn't feel very positive.
3. On Tuesday when I went to the Dovecot again, I had such a moment of pleasure. I was delighted that I got paid to do this, to sit and plan in such a great place and to get to know folk like Georgia. Georgia is a designer and I got to know her properly when she designed a show of my borothers last year. She is ace. She is also leaving to become a midwife. She's 44 and has taken the leap to do something that she always wanted to do. It's inpspiring talking to her and the plans we make are going to be lovely.
4. On Thursday, Lesley left our office, after four years. That might not sound long, but we've only been going for five and a bit, so she's been in the thick of it. It's an odd feeling when one of the originals go. But she's moving for all the right reasons and her farewell is fond.
5. The week ends and I feel totally different from the way I felt at the start. Everything passes. Sometimes you need a bit of melodrama along the way.
