Sometimes

Sometimes the weather doesn't do the right thing , sometimes the ground underfoot will be a quagmire, and sometimes you just have to get on with it and enjoy the event. Which we did at Dalmally show today, despite torrential rain through last night and into this morning, and then repeated showers when we were on the show field. Ok, there was a car stuck in the mud at the parking area and I did almost lose my right welly when buying a venison burger from Churchill's stall (in this picture). But the burger was delicious, Jamie McGrigor , the Tory list MSP who lives nearby was (bizarrely) dressed as a French chef, trying to demonstrate breakfast cookery, and the children to whom I presented the prizes for the "Rivers in the Classroom " Project had done some wonderful work.

Plus there were lots of interesting stalls, many highly skilled prize winners and a good traditional highland agricultural show which seemed to be thriving. So weather is not everything !
