Change over

Back in Edinburgh tonight for the start of the new Parliamentary session tomorrow.

I had dinner in Old College with a delegation from the Universities in Catalonia, hosted by Edinburgh University and Universities Scotland.

Afterwards I walked back to the flat and came across this on the pavement in the Cowgate - the remains of the Festival fringe, deserted by the crowds.

This time in Edinburgh always feels like a change over - from the excitement , exuberance and press of the Festivals to the "auld claithes and porridge" of our normal city life. From summer to autumn. From evening light to street light.

But perhaps "nane the waur" for that , in the words of an old Scottish Judge.
