Unfinished masterpiece

Today brother Phill and I visited Chateau de Lavardens, which stands on a lofty hilltop halfway between Castera-Verduzan and Auch in the Gers département of France.

The somewhat bizarre architecture is incomplete, its huge soaring arches unfinished with wooden scaffolding still in place, flying buttresses, cutaway corners, incomplete balconies.... a somewhat sad facade, but one that is under constant renovation
