The high lakes

Today, Phill, Stephanie and I headed off for the Pyrenees and the Vallée d'Aure, where we embarked upon a lengthy hike over several hours several thousand feet above sea level. Leaving the car at Lac d'Orédon we then scaled the rocky paths that lead to the subject of this image, Les Laquettes, a series of three emerald bodies of water nestling in between the vast mountain peaks.

As you see, we climbed further to Lac d'Aubert and Lac d'Aumar, then down via another track and hairpin bend road...
