I understand where the designer's eye for this is coming from.

For example, I would consider the first Apple-Mac (the one we had at school with Apache on it) to be both brutalist and minimalist (if that's possible) - and it still looks fantastic.

But..... if you look at the St. James Centre and the adjoining hotel from the big patch of grass in front of the cafe area in the Botanics, it is a blot on the landscape.
