Trendsetter

This Scotmid is round the corner from us. It has been my local Scotmid for manys a year. When I were a pre-school kid at Fort Nursery my Mum would pick us up and take us in here on the way home. It seemd huge to me at the time. We used to get lost in the freezer aisles (there were loads back then). In those days the store was a Co-op like Scotmid still is today but this store was called Trendsetter. The big one out at Granton was called Trendcentre (a Friday night out for us kids - very exciting).

Wm Low on Broughton Road (now a Tesco would you believe?) opened in 1984 and that was it for our Co-op custom until more recent years.

This Scotmid store, formerly known as Trendsetter, finally closed its doors for good on Saturday 3rd May 2008.

It's been emotional.
