Kefalonia Day 1

Stayed overnight at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel at Gatwick Airport. Very nice room and reasonably priced. Obviously everything extortionately overpriced. Treated Bev to a McDonalds.......
To that all life passes through McDonalds doors would be an understatement....
02-30am alarm call, board the plane at 05-40, take off 06-30. Original captain takes I'll in the cockpit...... Replacement pilot gets us to our destination 15 minutes early. Take note network rail. Wanted to buy a bottle of Kahula in the duty free shop at Gatwick to take to Kefalonia, a 1 litre bottle was priced at £12.99, very nice price, duty on that same bottle £14-37......how does that work ?????
Any way arrived at destination, temperature a very nice 31 degree's, picked the jeep up at the airport, top down, shorts and t shirt on, all good in the world !!
After checking into our apartment, popped out to buy, fruit, rolls, meats, water, and of course alcohol. The sun has now gone down, I'm writing to you by candle light looking out across the Ionian Sea towards Zakynthos, I have my wife by my side enjoying a long Bacardi and Coke, away from work and the daily hustle and bustle, life is indeed, Good !
