the naked lady...
...in purple hues
one of my most favorite paintings... ever... that i own, that is
i became a major art dealer when i purchased this during a trip to africa... it cost me 2 million (cedi, that is)... but it's always fun to say 2 mill...
it drew me in as soon as i saw it due to the many layers of color - the textures and depth... she is sitting upon what's called a king's bench - used in the 1700's i believe... i never tire of looking at her - always finding something new that intrigues me.
now, as i'm suspended to being homebound for many days with this new injury - needing to remain off my foot, it's a piece i can look at and remember the days i spent in africa - those memories, what people there used to endure... continue to endure and recognize i am doing fairly well and have much to be grateful for - even as i hobble about making sure i miss gracie's tail with these crutches...
that, my friends... makes for a
happy day.....
