Thugs?
Today we went for new shoes. It is better to leave the buying of their new school shoes until near the end of the school holidays but maybe not until the very last day of the holidays because the shoe shops are like a rugby scrum. We tried Br*ntan* first but they had limited stock and I wasn't too convinced that the assistant was up to scratch measuring their feet. Lewis did find a pair of WHITE trainers for school PE though. I ask you, WHITE!!! Then we had our dinner out before heading to the Clarks store. We were given a numbered ticket...that's how busy it was. Clarks are what they are: good, sturdy shoes but not too exciting. They've hardly changed their school range over the past 7 years but, never mind. The boys had their feet measured well and the shoes they choose were good and not too naff so all happy.
Then I tried to get their hair cut at the local barbers....full to bursting. Drove around all of the barbers in the village...all full. Drove to Chorley and sat in the barbers there for a good hour before they finally got their hair cut. The guys in the barbers are Turkish. I think they've done a good job but they took forever.
Grandad called up and said their hair was awful and that they look like thugs. He says they'll get picked on at school!! What can I say? I think their hair is a tad short but they don't exactly look like thugs in my opinion. What's the point in having a haircut if it isn't cut short.
Anyway, watch out....my thugs are on the loose!!!
