Heidelberg

The 2 most photographed parts of Heidelberg in one shot - the bridge and the castle.

The bridge is the Ernst Walz Bridge across one of the offshoots of the Rhine, the River Neckar.
It was strange going from Freiburg to Heidelberg. Even though Freiburg is very much on the tourist map, there weren't a huge amount of non-German speaking voices about. Hit Heidelberg and there were lots of American accents about. I had realised before arriving there was still an American military presence in the area. But after doing some research there are a number of large bases dotted around the outskirts of the town.
