First Sunburn of the Year

Well, the seemingly endless rainfall has been replaced by cloudless skies here in Marion, and with them the perennial requests for "The Collins Boys and their pickup" have come pouring in. But, buyer beware...owning a big truck guarantees supplementary income, a sore back, and a gas needle that loves to take 9 o'clock naps. Thankfully, however, this coming Sunday has given Matt and I a chance to work on our own yard this week, which allows for the contemporaneous sipping of beer, for which I am very grateful.

I'm also grateful for Riley, our baby Irish setter, who is currently in my lap providing some condolence for my pasty Irish shoulders, which after 12 hours in the sun are looking quite akin to that gas can to her left in the picture.

There's something about a legendary sunburn; I think we men always want to say that we've had worse, but then again that yellow disc is already making its slow climb back toward the horizon...

goodnight!
