Day thirteen: a weekend of rest and listening

So, this is the end of Labor Day weekend. I went out two times with different people and enjoyed that. The last two days, I have stayed at home. I have tried to do some much-needed catching up on sleep, I have read, worked on an article, done some other work, and rested. I am feeling pretty good and ready for the next week.

This is the first Labor Day weekend in three years that I have not gone anywhere. Initially, I was worried about spending a long weekend alone. But I listened to what I should and needed do. I was surprised at the opportunities to do things. Some of them I capitalized on, some of them I let pass me by.

I think that is part of the journey: listening to myself.

Today was a rainy and slightly chilly day, so I enjoyed the time to stay inside. I lit a candle and enjoyed the mellow, quiet mood. This photo feels like how I am feeling now, just quiet, peaceful, and mellow. I feel more recharged and ready for the quick pace of the next two months. It has been a good weekend.
