la mûre surprise

This was a surprise. I had a few minutes to kill this morning as I was early, so decided to have a wander around High Woods in Colchester. After all the rain, I thought the ground would be damper than it was and I was expecting some more fungi to photograph - but none at all. But here was a blackberry bush in flower, in September, which I felt a little strange, especially as most bushes I find have already fruited and shrivelled.
