Maria is spending the year in London to improve her English. She is studying at the LSL on Queesway where one can find many foreign students hanging about aching to have their portrait taken. I had to beg off after several Italians and one rather pungent, hirsute Croatian guy insisted I take their photos. He got a little over enthusiastic and I had to firmly put him in his place. His roommate wanted me to know that he was really a very nice chap but sometimes a bit silly. I guess that is the sort of thing one can expect when you talk to strangers. My mother did warn me.
