Inglenookish
Inspired by 19mart71 here's a lazy blip.
The creation of the fireplace wasn't such a lazy affair though, nor was it particularly planned. We were ripping out an old (as in 70's) stone fireplace with the intention of fitting a simple marble type job. Sadly the brickwork up to the supporting lintel had other ideas and collapsed.
So the project grew into having the chimney lined, acid brick cleaner, eBay gas fire and the piece de resistance, the oak surround.
The picture over the fireplace is a Diana Mackie print which we bought when on holiday on Skye a few years ago. It is called 'Above the Clouds' and features the Cuillin Ridge.
The clay pipes make a handy place to store (and warm) wine!
